Agenda 2030 goal 13 calls for immediate action to combat climate change and its impacts. With the
passing of each year, climate change is wreaking irreversible effects on planet Earth. Our first-year
scientific and linguistic high school students engaged in a multi-disciplinary approach (Geography, Italian, English and Maths) to explore this ever-important topic. With a focus on Geography, they took a closer look at various locations across the globe and how these areas are being affected in a variety of different ways. Concentrating on the Greenhouse Effect and Sea Level Rise, they carried out three different labs.

Through the study of NASA graphs outlining sea level rise from past to present students familiarised
themselves with the effects climate change has on sea level rise. But what exactly causes sea level rise?
Our Maths professor introduced Archimedes' Principle helping our students understand that the answer
may not be as simple as they might expect. Lastly, the students hypothesised as to the outcome of each
experiment and participated in hands-on labs to confirm if their hypothesis was correct.

L'obiettivo 13 di Agenda 2030 richiede un'azione immediata per combattere il cambiamento climatico e i suoi impatti. I nostri studenti 1^ Liceo Linguistico e Scientifico si sono impegnati in un approccio multidisciplinare (geografia, italiano, inglese, fisica e educazione civica) per esplorare questo argomento sempre importante. Concentrandosi sull'effetto serra, sull'innalzamento del livello del mare, e sullo
scioglimento degli iceberg, hanno condotto tre diversi laboratori. Attraverso dei grafici della NASA che delineano l'innalzamento del livello del mare e una mini lezione di fisica sul Principio di Archimede gli studenti hanno ipotizzato i risultati dei tre laboratori svolti in classe, aiutandoli a capire che la risposta potrebbe non essere così semplice come ci si aspetta.
